Personnel

A motivated and professional workforce is of primary importance to DNA.

Creating an encouraging and flexible environment with the Flexible Method of Working

DNA employs some 1,600 top professionals. We are committed to fostering employee well-being and providing our employees with an encouraging working environment, which supports personal and career development. Working at DNA is based on fairness, and appreciation and respect for others. DNA was ranked as Finland's best place to work in 2019 in the Great Place to Work survey’s large companies category.

DNA’s Genuine Method of Working is based on trust and flexibility, and has proved very successful. Using mobile workstations, the employees decide independently where they work without discussing this with their supervisor. The Genuine Method of Working changes not only the working environment but also the working culture, and DNA’s employees have welcomed this change enthusiastically.

Our new energy-efficient and flexible work environment enables us to be innovative in versatile and responsible ways. Improved comfort has been reflected in the positive development of employee satisfaction, as measured by our surveys, and reduced levels of emissions from work-related travel.

Diversity is a resource for us

We value diversity. Each DNA employee has the right to a safe and tolerant working environment that fosters wellbeing. DNA was among the first signatories of the diversity commitment to mark the launch of the Diversity Charter Finland.

Different aspects of diversity, such as inclusiveness and commitment, equality and leveraging different types of skill sets, are already part of DNA’s everyday working and leadership practices. At DNA, everyone can be themselves.

Guiding our operations with ethical principles

DNA's ethical principles guide our work. For us, good work means non-discrimination and equal opportunities, among others.

Employee health and wellbeing are promoted through a number of means, such as paying attention to health and safety at work, providing access to a high-quality occupational health scheme that goes beyond the regulatory obligations, ensuring continuous professional development, and focusing on well-being at work.

Co-operation with Harvard Business School

DNA acted again as partner in 2018 for a group of students arriving in Helsinki from the Harvard Business School. DNA's partnership is part of the Harvard Business School's first year's FIELD Global Immersion course. The Harvard students first worked remotely from Boston with the DNA team, after which they spent a week in Helsinki at their headquarters DNA House, working on the innovation challenge set by the company.  DNA was also involved in the program in 2017.
