We are committed to continuous business development, while considering the needs of our environment and the stakeholders. As a responsible operator, we provide high-quality service to our customers, are a good employer and a reliable and innovative partner.

We take the needs resulting from digitalisation and a changing age structure into account in society. Therefore, we continue our dialogue with our customers, suppliers, employees and other stakeholders, and will develop our operations to meet their needs and the changes of society.

Services for a changing society

According to its strategy, DNA will meet the growing demand for faster high-quality connections. We invest in a very competitive and cost-effective network and service platform infrastructure so as to meet the growing communications needs of consumers and society in general.

Modern communications and entertainment services In a digital society, there is a constant need for receiving and sharing data. DNA offers high-quality voice, data and TV services for communication, entertainment and work.
Fast and comprehensive networks This growth is driven, among other things, by the growing supply and use of video, image and instant messaging services that benefit from the high speeds provided in modern networks. For its own part, DNA provides comprehensive high-speed connections by making significant investments in the construction, development and maintenance of its network infrastructure.
Pioneer in mobile work As a pioneer in the promotion of digital and mobile work, DNA considers the changing service needs of working life, and develops smart solutions for data communication between devices.
Online safety of young users For several years, DNA has also been guiding young users on safe use of the Internet and mobile phones.
Senior citizen’s service needs Providing tailored services and smart solutions for senior customers as well as nationwide network coverage helps prevent the digital exclusion of senior citizens. DNA’s dedicated telephone service takes account of senior customers’ special needs.

Significant investments to secure key communication connections

The high-quality, fast connection speeds are dependent on significant investments. Compared to many other fields, technology is very quickly replaced or updated. From society’s perspective, such investments secure the future provision of competitive communications services.

Individual users and businesses alike depend on reliable and fast Internet connections and online services. Many people use more than one internet-enabled device, and video especially is accessed anytime and anywhere. This adds to the broadband network load and means that telecom operators must keep updating and improving the network.

DNA actively involved in constructing a digital society

DNA considers stakeholder communication and feedback to be extremely important – we operate actively in order to develop the Finnish society. We take direct action and join our industry organisations in projects that promote digitalisation. We also communicate transparently with authorities and decision-makers about our views on regulatory issues that affect the development of our industry and business environment.

DNA engages in the work of associations and trade organisations, as well as the developments in safeguarding our industry’s interests. DNA is a member of various associations, including the Finnish Federation for Communications and Teleinformatics (FiCom), the Service Sector Employers (PALTA), the European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ECTA) and Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA). DNA is also a member of the Finnish Corporate Responsibility Network FIBS and Diversity Charter Finland.

Inexpensive calls, high-quality networks and great coverage

In Finland, the prices of mobile calls are among the most inexpensive in the world, and we have high-quality networks with great coverage – regardless of the fact that Finland is one of the most sparsely populated areas in Europe. Read more about the prices of mobile calls from the comprehensive ITU report.

Since the early 2000s, when DNA entered the Finnish mobile communications market, it has played a major role in the development of mobile call prices. The set-up involving three competitors is one of the key factors that have led to a significant decrease in telecommunication prices since the early 2000s, while other customer prices have increased.
