What rights do you have to your personal data?

To find out what kind of data DNA has about you, here's what to do

Data subjects have the right to access and review their personal data stored by us. Before sending us an access request, please read these instructions:

  • The right of access is personal. This means that you cannot authorize anyone else to make a data request on your behalf. 
  • DNA uses secure mail when replying to access requests. This means that the e-mail will be sent to you encrypted, and you need a PIN code to open it and read it. 
  • You will get a link from DNA via e-mail in about one month after sending us an access request. With this link, you can read the message that is sent to you. To open the mail and read the message, you need a PIN code. You will get the PIN code from DNA via text message after opening the link in the security mail.  
  • In order for us to be able to verify your identity, a copy of your identity document must be attached in the access request. In case DNA can't verify the identity of the person making the request, DNA cannot fulfil the request.
  • Print and fill in the form, sign it and send it and a scanned copy of your identity document via secure mail to palvelu@dna.fi or by post to DNA. A request that concerns subscription, service or product of a private customer, can be sent also via the Viestit tab in DNA online service Minun palveluni.  When using the Viestit tab, you don't need to send a copy of identity document with the request. 
  • DNA responds to you in about three to four weeks’ time. During rush times the response might take longer.

 

Here's what to do:

  1. Print and fill in the form, sign it and send it and the scanned copy of your identity document via secure mail to palvelu@dna.fi or  by post to DNA at the address mentioned in the form. 
  2. Choose which form to use. In order for us to be able to search the right register, please tell what kind of data the request concerns:
  • A subscription, service or product of a private customer and data relating that, please choose this (the form is in Finnish only). 
  • The personal data of a business subscription or a business service user, the contact person or a person entitled to sign for the company, please choose this (the form is in Finnish only)
  • The personal data of a person who gets newsletters and/or marketing mail from DNA, please choose this (the form is in Finnish only)
  • The personal data that is collected when  you have applied for a job at DNA, please choose this (the form is in Finnish only)
In case you want to request for the erasure of your personal data,

The erasure of personal data, "the right to be forgotten"

In certain circumstances you have right to ask DNA to  delete personal data about you that is stored in DNA's registers. Before sending us a request for erasure, please read this: 

• Request of erasure ("the right to be forgotten") is personal. This means that you cannot authorize anyone else to make that request on your behalf. 

• According to EU's privacy regulation, the right to be forgotten is not absolute. Please note that personal data which are necessary for the implementation of their purposes (e.g. if you have imposed a marketing ban, we retain the information on the ban and the contact details so that we can ensure compliance with the ban) or needed, for example, for invoicing or accounting purposes or other legal obligations, cannot be erased.  We delete your data in all those cases,  in which the grounds  for processing and storing them  has ended. Information about the processing, grounds  for processing and storage periods is available in the data protection statement.

• Please note that the erasure at the data subject's request is irrevocable, and we cannot recover data that has already been erased

• In case of business decision makers, DNA has the right to process the data on the grounds of a legitimate interest. So please note that if you are in a position of business decision maker, your personal data might revert to DNA's registers from public or other sources. 

•    In order for us to be able to verify your identity, a copy of your identity document must be attached in the request of erasure. (a valid passport, driving licence, an ID card granted by police authority or a Kela card that includes your photo). 

•    DNA will respond to you in about three to four weeks’ time. During rush times the response might take longer.

Here's what to do:

  • Print and fill in the form, sign it and send it and the scanned copy of your identity document via secure mail to palvelu@dna.fi or by post to  the following address: Rekisteritietojen poistamispyyntö / kuluttaja-asiakkaat, DNA Oyj, PL 10, 01044. Remember to attach a copy of your identity card to the letter!
  • Secure mail ensures that the messages are transmitted encrypted. to DNA. A request that concerns subscription, service or product of a private customer, can be sent also via the Viestit tab in DNA online service Minun palveluni When using the Viestit tab, you don't need to send a copy of your identity document with the request. 
  • Please wait for DNA's response. DNA will reply to you in about one months’ time. If the reply mail contains confidential information, we will send the reply by secure mail and you will get a link to the reply by text message.

Changes to our cookie policy in 2020

How do the 2019 amendments to the Act on Electronic Communications Services affect DNA's operations?

As a result of the legislative amendment, network users will have new opportunities to manage the data generated by their web browsing. In DNA's operations, this amendment has meant changes to the cookie policy. Users of our online services have additional opportunities to manage cookies on our website. You can edit your browsing cookie settings in the footnote on this page.

What changes have been made to the cookie policy?

The person browsing must now accept what cookies are stored about them, and they may also choose to opt out of all cookies except those that are essential for the operation of services.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are data generated by the use of the online service, which is used by the online service provider to provide users with a better service.  Cookies collect anonymous data, including the browsing history of the service provider's website, which allows the smart web service to detect, for example, that the person browsing may be interested in a telephone offer.  You can read more about cookies here.
