Work culture

DNA's award-winning work culture is built on trust. In 2019, DNA was selected as the best workplace in Finland and one of the best workplaces in Europe in the GPTW survey. The Family Federation of Finland has granted us recognition as a Family Friendly Workplace.

How will DNA develop its work culture in 2020?

DNA  decided not to participate the GPTW 2020 survey.

However, as the Best Workplace 2019 in Finland and the 13th Best Workplace 2019 in Europe, DNA will continue to actively develop its work culture. For example, at the beginning of 2020 we announced the 40 hour learning challenge and as a new employee benefit we offer support for taking care of elderly family members.

DNA is the best place to work 2019!

DNA has been ranked first as the best place to work 2019 in Finland in the Great Place to Work survey’s large companies category. DNA was selected also as one of Europe’s best employers - DNA was the highest ranked Finnish company in the large companies category in 13th place. A big thank you to every DNA employee for their contribution in building the best work community in Finland!

"Over the years, we have seen that wellbeing at work improves considerably when employees are genuinely able to influence their work community and the activities of the company as a whole. As the best understanding and expertise is held by our personnel, listening to them is the key to building change together", says Marko Rissanen, Senior Vice President, Human Resources.

DNA has worked actively to develop new methods of working for its personnel. Since 2012, DNA has used and developed the highly acclaimed genuine method of working, a model that promotes the flexibility of work. Rather than simply encouraging telecommuting, the flexible work concept means inspiring employees to select the best possible working environment for each job. Flexible working has shifted focus from hours to results, as all employees are responsible for their own work and for attaining set goals.

DNA has not only introduced freedom to the ways of working, but also actively engaged personnel to share their own ideas. The ideas put forward by DNA employees may well develop into the best new services or policies. This practice has lead to the creation of concepts such as the mobile broadband Mokkula and the grandparental leave launched a few years ago.

"DNA’s corporate culture rests on the company’s strong values of agility, straightforwardness and boldness. Agility and boldness often complement each other and are visible particularly in rapid responses and agile experiments", says Joni Sarpo, Organizational Culture Advisor, Great Place to Work.

Good team spirit and commitment have been highlighted year after year in DNA’s Great Place to Work survey.  Every employee’s contribution is important, but all employees have the freedom to engage in personal development. Prior to its win, DNA received the Great Place to Work® certificate in October 2017 and 2018. The certificate is awarded to companies with a Trust Index score of at least 70% for overall job satisfaction.

A family-friendly company

To us, a family-friendly attitude means first and foremost concrete actions, as reconciling work and other aspects of life improves well-being. For some, this means more time for hobbies or friends, while others value caring for the needs of their families.

Solutions that matter

Modern work is increasingly mobile and flexible. That’s why we are always developing new and more efficient ways of digital working for both ourselves and our customers. At DNA, we both experience the changing world and actively create new solutions.

A career at DNA

Our flexible work concept makes DNA an exceptionally open, supportive and productive workplace that understands the needs of employees’ families and free time.
