DNA Plc's open positions

Position: Strategy & Market Intelligence Trainee - Industrial AI and 5G

Job description

Finland is one of the world’s leading industrial economies – but which industries are ready to accelerate their transformation with AI-powered automation, industrial 5G and autonomous operations? Which enterprise should DNA prioritize, and how can we become their trusted growth and innovation partner?

DNA Corporate Business is looking for an ambitious Strategy & Market Intelligence Trainee to help us answer these questions. During a 4-5-month internship, you will work on one of DNA’s key strategic growth initiatives, helping us understand where the biggest opportunities for industrial transformation lie and how DNA should compete in this rapidly evolving market.

This is not a typical trainee role. You will work directly with senior business leaders, enterprise customers and technology partners on a consulting-style strategy project that will help shape DNA’s future direction in industrial AI, automation and 5G.

The preferred starting date is 1 September 2026, although the exact start date can be agreed separately.

Working time can vary between 75% and 100% (part-time to full-time), depending on your stage of studies.

The position is based in Helsinki, but you can work remotely according to DNA’s flexible work concept.

YOUR KEY JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Strategy and Market Intelligence trainee, you will conduct in-depth strategic assessment of Finnish industry’s readiness for AI-powered automation and industrial digitalization.

Working together with experienced business and technology professionals, you will:

  • Conduct consulting-style market research and strategic analysis of Finnish industries

  • Identify early adopters of industrial AI/automation, 5G and IoT

  • Assess market attractiveness, customer readiness and competitive dynamics

  • Interview enterprise customers, technology partners and industry experts

  • Visit selected industrial sites to understand operational challenges and digitization opportunities

  • Collect, analyse and synthesise information from public and private sources

  • Develop a fact-based business case and strategic recommendations for DNA’s management

Your research will explore topics such as:

  • High-value enterprise use cases for AI, 5G and IoT

  • Investments in industrial automation and physical AI

  • Data, connectivity and digital infrastructure readiness

  • Organisational capabilities, skills and transformation readiness

  • Operational Technology (OT) maturity

  • Early adopter industries and market opportunities

  • Business models and go-to-market opportunities for DNA

Your work will be part of DNA’s Corporate Business unit strategic initiative Industry Grid 5G  and directly contribute to decisions on where and how DNA should invest and grow its enterprise business.

WHAT A SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

By the end of your internship, you will have delivered:

  • A comprehensive assessment of Finnish industry’s readiness for AI-powered transformation

  • A prioritisation of industries and customer segments that DNA should target

  • Strategic recommendations on where and how DNA should compete in industrial 5G

  • An executive presentation to senior management

Most importantly, you will have completed a project demonstrating analytical thinking, structured problem solving and strategic business insight - experience that is highly valued in consulting, technology and strategy careers.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

This internship offers the opportunity to work on a real strategic business challenge with visible impact:

  • Work directly with senior business leaders on strategic decision-making

DNA still believes in freedom and responsibility – coming to the office is a choice, not an obligation

We have long believed that the best ideas arise where there is space to think. It's not about where you do it, it's what you do. That’s why we are excited about future ways of working, where the common goal can be reached along many different paths.

Even though we work together, we are still individuals. Some of us are early risers, while others are at their best when the sun sets. At DNA, you can work wherever and whenever you want: in a tree house, at the library, a summer cabin, the office, or any favourite place. As long as the goals are met and we reach them together, the journey can also be made on roads less travelled. There’s no need to ask permission from your superiors.

It's not easy, breaking the rules and accustomed ways. But we have been practicing a straightforward way of working based on trust and individual responsibility for 10 years now. What we have learned is that no one should be left alone. We need encounters and discussions, as well as acceptance of differences. Who knows where we'll find ourselves when we dare to do things differently?
